More than 500 MWh of solar power generated

TUBE-TEC has already generated over 500 MWh of solar power

Since May 2012, TUBE-TEC has been operating a photovoltaic system for the generation of solar power.

The construction of the solar panels was built on the roof of one of the production buildings and has generated solar power from its commissioning to the present day and fed it into the power grid of the Westerwald region. The meter at the reception of the administration building displayed exactly 566.0 MWh on 23 July this year. In total, TUBE-TEC has saved 380 t of CO2 over the past seven years. An impressive performance, evident in comparing with the saved amount of fossil fuel: The saved amount of CO2 corresponds to the consumption of about 120,000 l of heating oil or 190,000 m3 of natural gas.

TUBE-TEC is continuously looking for environmentally friendly and energy-efficient alternatives for their facilities, equipment and processes and is implementing more environmentally friendly alternatives whenever it makes sense. The replacement of fossil fuels with renewable energies is one of the measures, as is also the conversion of factory hall lighting to energy-saving LED lights, which has largely been completed already.

"TUBE-TEC has been making its contribution to a better environment for years. We take our corporate social responsibility very seriously," says Managing Director Natascha Sommer. "We encourage our employees to contribute their ideas for improvement. Every contribution counts and our employees receive success fees for good ideas. We are aware that companies need to work sustainably for being successful in the long term. At TUBE-TEC, we are well prepared for the future."
